Wait on the Lord!

“My soul waits silently on God alone for my expectation is from Him” Psalm 62:5 (NKJV)

Notice David says my soul waits silently on God alone. I want to ask you, are you waiting on God?  Or are you trying to do things that will “help God” or speed up the waiting period. Are you trying to make things work in order to yield a result that can only come to pass if it aligns with the will of God? Are we running around to find the answer when the answer can only be provided by God? I love how King David says my soul waits quietly, that means we need to enter the presence of God and drop the things that we may be doing in our own strength and listen to the one who has it all. We need to drown out the noises of life like deadlines, bills, report, family quarrels, stress and allow our souls to be quiet and focus on God. “for my expectation comes from Him”. Our expectation comes from the one who said “let there be light, and there was light” (Genesis 1:3), who created the heavens and the earth, who created me in my mother’s womb, who creates a way when there is no way and was faithful to us in our time of need and past struggles.  Our expectation comes from God who still sits on the throne and when He speaks, things come into existence. Let’s be willing to wait on the Lord and wait for His answer. Let’s rest in who He is.

My prayer is that you trust in the Lord, come into His presence with such hunger and faith and remember the God that you serve!  Psalm 46:10 also says “Be still and know that I am God!

God bless,
