My favourite lines from “End of Days” by Hillsong Young and Free are:
You came to Earth you created
You walked beneath the stars you made
You came from heaven holding freedom
Jesus Christ the Lord our God
You authored life and wrote Yourself in
You dwelt in time that you designed
Creator lived in His creation
Completely man, completely God
It amazes me how personal God was willing to get by coming to Earth in the flesh of man. The very earth he created, that He spoke into existence and designed by hand. He made the choice to walk the very roads we walked, fished with fishermen. Involved himself in the affairs of those who were hungry, lost, needed healing, showed mercy and love to those that were rejected, ostracized and overlooked. Jesus revealed the true heart of the Father, which was to have that intimate fellowship and to be a part of our everyday lives. Nothing was beneath Jesus.
God could have decided to sit on His throne and turn a blind eye but He couldn’t. He wouldn’t we were far too precious and too valuable. God’s heart broke when we were broken, wept when we wept and was willing to sacrifice Jesus as a way to reconcile ourselves to Him. And because of that, we no longer have to sacrifice animals for atonement, perform works to be worthy of his grace or rely on priests to speak to God. We have unlimited access.
The Bible says in Hebrews 6:15 “For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weakness, but we have one who in every respect has been tested as we are, yet without sin” “Creator lived in His creation. Completely man, completely God”
It was never God’s intention to create us, abandon us and leave us to our own demises. And for that I am truly grateful for the love that has been poured over all of us
